2 for Insomnifest

Jan. 8, 2008by: Jared Pacheco
Slasher Pool's Insomnifest has really been shaping up lately, with the addition of flicks like THE GRIEF and GUTTERBALLS. Well they've announced two more for the festivities. These flicks are METHODIC and THE HOUSE AT THE END OF THE ROAD.

METHODIC is a blatant HALLOWEEN ripoff and it goes something like this: A young boy gets possessed by an ominous presence and ends up killing his parents at his own birthday party. He's sent off to a mental institution where he will spend the rest of his days... or so they thought. As the presence grows stronger and stronger, the boy, who's now fully grown, is soon completely overtaken by the demonic presence and goes on a killing rampage. Now all you can do is pray. Pray that you're not next. Don't disown it just yet. The director, Chris R. Notarile is apparently a big HALLOWEEN fan and wanted to 'capture the essence' of the original. After watching the trailer, it's got potential to be entertaining, and the poster rocks hard. My only negative is that the killer made his smile with a red Sharpie instead of blood... come on. The flick stars Niki Notarile, Brandon Slagle, Rachael Robbins, Tony Dadika, Charles Cyphers, and Christine Allanach. Check out the trailer here.

THE HOUSE AT THE END OF THE ROAD reads: Four students majoring in art leave the civilization for a couple of days to be able to dedicate some time to their current art projects. They've rented a remote house where the nearest neighbour is miles away and nothing but woods surround them, but just as they start getting settled in, strange things start to occur. Something's been waiting for them and now there's only one rule; trust no one... ESPECIALLY not yourself! It's directed by Martin Kjellberg and Nils Whlin. It stars Mattias Ohlsson, Sandra Thradttir, Henrik Danielsson, and David Clausson. From the looks of the trailer, it looks like HOUSE might be pretty twisted. Check out the trailer here.
