This new adaptation seems to be shaping up to become something really special. It won't replace the 1976 film for me though. De Palma's classic is in my top five of all time, but it was not a 100% faithful adaptation of the source material and I do think it's a story that can be retold successfully countless times just like Dracula and Frankenstein. I even somewhat enjoyed the 2002 TV version although I may be slightly biased, being a huge Angela Bettis fan. However, I think this one will

This story works just as well today as it did three decades ago, and I think that we have a great director behind the camera with a great cast in front of it. I'm so excited to see what they take from the novel and what they add to it, and I have no doubt in my mind that it will be great. More specifically about the teaser, I think it's well done, and it will draw in people that don't know much about the story.

Remember, some remakes' trailers have cool images, but they do not get the story right in the actual complete picture: A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Haunting, The Fog, Psycho, When a Stranger Calls. All four had neat-o trailers but bad full films. They were not like the most recent versions of I Spit on Your Grave, Halloween, Dawn of the Dead, or Friday the 13th. The trailers promised; then, the movies delivered something decent or better. We fans shall see what we have here.
