Yam Laranas' new Filipino horror film THE ROAD is open for traveling on May 11th, and to get us in the mood to cross this ominous bastard, we have a quartet of new stills via Prodigy Publications. Nothing terribly graphic is depicted in the new shots, but damn, that first one has an eerie beauty we can only hope the rest of the film embodies.
With Carmina Villarroel (below), Marvin Agustin, TJ Trinidad, Rhian Ramos and Barbie Forteza all making appearances:
THE ROAD tells the story of a twelve-year-old cold case that is reopened when three teenagers vanish while traversing an infamous and abandoned road. As investigators try to find leads to the whereabouts of the missing teens, they also unearth the road’s gruesome past that spans two decades – a history of abduction, crimes and murders.
Sort of reminds me of YELLOWBRICKROAD, which was pretty damn trippy in its own right. Not sure if this one will equate in the end, but it looks like it could be Yaranas' best so far, after giving us THE ECHO and PATIENT X.
