The Haunting in Connecticut 2 gets a trailer with A Haunting In Massachusetts forthcoming

12.12.2012by: Ike Oden

Man, these states got it tough in the haunting department. Me, I'm from Indiana-- the only thing we're haunted by is a lack of funding for our public school systems. Georgia, on the other hand, seems to have some serious ghost problems. They are unrelated to those moviegoers originally experienced in THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT, but it's a semi-sequel cash grab nonetheless. As such, we have a slew of updates on THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT 2: GHOSTS OF GEORGIA.

GHOSTS OF GEORGIA is directed by Tom Elkins (editor of the first film) and written by David Coggeshall. It stars Katee Sackhoff, Chad Michael Murray, and Abigail Spencer. GHOSTS OF GEORGIA will get a limited theatrical and VOD release on February 13th of next year. The poster and trailer (courtesy of Yahoo! Movies) and synopsis can be seen below:

When Andy Wyrick moves his wife Lisa and daughter Heidi to an historic home in Georgia, they quickly discover they are not the house’s only inhabitants. Joined by Lisa’s free-spirited sister, Joyce, the family soon comes face-to-face with a bone-chilling mystery born of a deranged desire… a haunting secret rising from underground and threatening to bring down anyone in its path.

Oh, and speaking of movies about hauntings in specific states, A HAUNTING IN MASACHUSETTS set to begin shooting next month. The film has nothing to do with CONNECTICUT or GHOSTS OF GEORGIA, but it is more than willing to cash in on the name association. Rib and Dale Hillis (PIRANAHCONDA) are set to star in the mockbuster, which will be directed by Matt Hish (HALFWAY TO A BLACKOUT) from a script by Chris W. Freeman (PARANORMAL INCIDENT).

Check out the synopsis below and, for God sakes, contact your local Congress about getting some traction on anti-haunting laws in your state. This HAUNTING IN... epidemic must be stopped!

“Desperate to reconnect with his wife and son after a violent attack leaves them fear-stricken and traumatized, a father moves his family to a sleepy New England town and finds himself in a fight against supernatural forces hell-bent on tearing them apart.”

Extra Tidbit: I refuse to make a joke about Katee Sackhoff (above) haunting my state any time. I think we're all better than those kind of puns.
