A man becomes a human/ghoul hybrid in Tokyo Ghoul trailer

Tokyo Ghoul

Chances are that I wouldn't enjoy TOKYO GHOUL, a live action manga adaptation from director Kentarō Hagiwara, since I don't have a good track record with this type of movie. As promising as they often sound, manga adaptations (or manga-style movies) with oddball concepts and copious amounts of bloodshed just don't tend to be my cup of tea. But for those of you who are into this sort of thing, a trailer for TOKYO GHOUL can be seen below.

TOKYO GHOUL tells the following story:

Ghouls live among us, the same as normal people in every way — except their craving for human flesh. Shy Ken Kaneki is thrilled to go on a date with the beautiful Rize. But it turns out that she’s only interested in his body — eating it, that is. When a morally questionable rescue transforms him into the first half-human half-Ghoul hybrid, Ken is drawn into the dark and violent world of Ghouls, which exists alongside our own.

Having been released in Japan last month, the film is now branching out into other territories. Funimation has the North American distribution rights, while the trailer we have here indicates that the film is getting a theatrical release in Australia on September 21st.

Check out the trailer and see if the live action TOKYO GHOUL looks like something you would like to watch:
