A new RoboCop banner rides in

Jan. 6, 2014by: Kevin Woods

We're just barely over a month away from seeing Jose Padilha's remake/reimagining of ROBOCOP serve up some futuristic justice on the big-screen and today we have a brand new banner promoting the film to share with ya. It's nothing too fancy but it isn't altogether too terrible, either. Here's hoping the film itself isn't as bad as some may be expecting it to be. Check out the banner below.

The year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years -- and it's meant billions for OmniCorp's bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) -- a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit -- is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance for a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.

ROBOCOP stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Samuel L. Jackson. It opens February 7th.

This is going to be bad... and bomb big time...

So I was 100% accurate in 2013 when it came to calling out bombs and anticipated action movies that were obviously going to suck.

Let's see how 2014 handles and I will say that Robocop will be the first huge failure of the year. I was going to predict Legend of Hercules to bomb but since nobody has even heard of LoH (really poor advertising) I think it is just expected to flop. Same with Paranormal Activity and that other POV movie about the baby. Those are expected to flop (and already

Robocop is something that people expect to do well, like John Carter before it (easily called that one a bomb). But every time I go to the theaters and see a Robocop trailer people BOO, literally when robocop is exposed with black armor, reveals his face 90% of the trailer and is nothing but a poor mans Iron Man, they booed.

Biggest January money maker will be Ride Along or Shadow Recruit but my money is on Ride Along as Shadow Recruit looks too involved and serious for couples to see together.

I, Frankenstein will also be a colossal failure.
