The Paramount/Platinum Dunes film A QUIET PLACE has been shrouded in secrecy, but now that we're in the week of its release a trailer has arrived online that pulls that shroud back a bit, including multiple shots of the creatures the family in the movie will be trying to avoid. They're very quick shots, but they're there, and I was surprised to see them.

Of course, early reviews have spoiled and even described these creatures at this point, but I thought the marketing department would continue to hold off on them so the general audience would still be wondering what the threat is when they go to the theatre.

Directed by John Krasinski, who also co-stars in the film with his wife Emily Blunt and rewrote the screenplay that was originally written by Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, A QUIET PLACE has the following synopsis:

If they can’t hear you, they can’t hunt you. A family lives an isolated existence in utter silence, for fear of an unknown threat that follows and attacks at any sound.

Krasinski and Blunt are joined in the cast by Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds.

A QUIET PLACE will be in theatres this weekend.
