Abruptio to star lifelike puppets voiced by Sid Haig, James Marsters

Hellbent Pictures and Sweet Home Films are currently at work on the surrealistic horror/thriller ABRUPTIO, a film with a very unique angle: it will be entirely performed by lifelike puppets.

The filmmakers haven't given us a look at those puppets, but we do know that the vocal cast will include genre icon Sid Haig, Christopher McDonald, and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER's James Marsters, who will be providing the voice for the main character,

a guy down on his luck who wakes to find an explosive device has been implanted in his neck. He must carry out heinous crimes in order to stay alive while trying to identify the mastermind manipulating the now twisted and strange world around him.

The mastermind behind ABRUPTIO is writer/director Evan Marlowe. The film is being produced by Kerry Marlowe, Martin White, Susan Finlayson, and Barry Finlayson. John Sellings is handling the visual effects, and THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE composers Savage & Spies will be providing the score.

Filming with the puppets has yet to commence, but voice recording sessions are underway.

This seems like a project to keep an eye on. The story could make for a fun, weird ride, and I'm really interested in seeing what the puppets look like.
