Morgan in RED DAWN remake!

According to Variety, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, most recently famous for his portrayl of The Comedian in Zack Snyder's WATCHMEN, is in final negotiations to star in the upcoming remake of RED DAWN, the classic 80s actioner starring Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, and C. Thomas Howell.

Directed by Dan Bradley, RED DAWN goes like this: follows a group of teenagers who band together to fight back when their home town is invaded by an joint force of Chinese and Russian soldiers. Morgan will play the leader of the U.S. Special Forces team who discovers the teens' stronghold while behind enemy lines.

Word on the street, Morgan will be playing the role that Powers Booth rocked in the original. I'm not sure how I feel about this move. On one hand, it's a decent casting decision. On the other, it's a remake that doesn't need to happen. Tough call. And no matter how hard they try, they won't be able to rock a cast that's more solid than the original. RED DAWN the remake hits theaters everywhere September 24, 2010. They're shooting for a September release? Yikes.

THE TOURNAMENT pics and premiere!

Thanks to ScottAdkinsFanz, there are four new images from THE TOURNAMENT online, featuring Robert Carlyle, Kelly Hu, Ving Rhames, and the man himself, Scott Adkins.

If that's not enough for ya, then this should spruce your TOURNAMENT love a little more. The Scott Mann directed actioner will will open this year’s Screamfest Horror Film Festival in the prestigious Grauman’s Theatre on October 16th! Now how's that for some star treatment?

Briefly, THE TOURNAMENT is an explosive, action-loaded thriller where the winner takes all. Every seven years, thirty of the world’s most deadly assassins face off against one another for an outrageous cash prize. There’s only one rule: kill or die. As dozens of wealthy gamblers watch via closed-circuit TV, a city is overrun by brutal assassins - all aiming to be the last one standing.

A bunch of assassins out for the ultimate prize. The could have also called this thing AWESOME and it'd be just as accurate. THE TOURNAMENT debuts at Screamfest then on DVD, when it hits stores everywhere October 20th. Be there.

Biel rounds-up A-TEAM!

In a move that bleeds coolness and WTF status, super-smokin' TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE hottie Jessica Biel has been cast as the love interest of Face in the upcoming big-screen treatment of THE A-TEAM!

Biel, who recently showed her sweet-tits in the STD flick POWDER BLUE, has now completed the line-up of A-list actors set to play the main A-TEAM characters, including Liam Neeson as Hannibal, Sharlto Copley as Murdock, Bradley Cooper as Face, and Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson as B.A Baracus aka Mr. T.

I loved the A-TEAM as a kid, and the casting is money--but will it live up to the show's greatness? It's up to producer James Cameron and director Joe Carnahan to decide, but I'm thinking this is shaping up to give other action-themed movies based on old TV shows a run for their money. THE A-TEAM is set to hit theaters everywhere late 2010.

According to the MTV Movie Blog, KICK-ASS creator Mark Millar is so pumped about KICK-ASS, and so sure it's gonna be a hit, that he already has plans for a sequel that's scheduled to shoot in the next 2 years. Say what???

I'll let Millar explain: We don't want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good. It didn't cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one... The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too.

I only know what I've seen of KICK-ASS from some footage they screened in San Diego this year. Let me say this: this movie is gonna kick all kinds of ass, and I already want a sequel! After they showed the trailer, there was a standing ovation. No joke.

Check out full scoop HERE, and have fun with that kick-ass clip from KICK-ASS below.
