Adam Green reveals how Michael Myers learned to drive in his Halloween short

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Well guys, October is finally here, which means Halloween is almost upon us. To get you in the mood we have this year’s annual seasonal short from HATCHET director Adam Green, and I have to say it’s a doozy.

The short addresses the greatest plot hole of John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN: how the hell did Michael Myers learn to drive? Adam Green points to the obvious answer– he was taught by a nebbish Joel David Moore (HATCHET, AVATAR). Slasher fans will appreciate the short’s hilarious take on the subject matter, not to mention the casting of Kane Hodder (Jason of FRIDAY THE 13th Part VII-X) as Michael Myers.

Overall, it’s a fun short and one that will certainly fit in with your HALLOWEEN viewing this October. Check it out, along with a synopsis, below.

In John Carpenter’s 1978 classic HALLOWEEN, “Michael Myers” was suddenly able to drive a car after having sat in a sanitarium staring at the wall since childhood. While the filmmakers addressed this slight plot hole briefly in the original movie with a throw away line by Donald Pleasance (“Maybe someone around here gave him lessons”), we here at ArieScope Pictures were fortunate enough to track down a never-before-seen deleted scene from HALLOWEEN that thoroughly explains what really happened. Our 14th annual Halloween Short Film parodies our favorite slasher film of all time and stars Joel David Moore (AVATAR, DODGEBALL) and Kane Hodder (HATCHET 1-3, FRIDAY THE 13th 7-10) as “Michael Myers”.
