Adrien Brody settles Giallo lawsuit; movie will hit DVD

01.20.2011by: Eric Walkuski

It amuses me that Adrien Brody's beef with the producers of GIALLO was over the fact that he didn't get paid his entire fee, having still been owed $640,000 even while the DVDs were being distributed across the globe. Now, I know with actors - or anyone who works for a living, really - it's usually about the money, and of course the man had every right to sue for what was promised him... But the reason I'm so amused is because I really assumed the thought-process behind the suit against the producers was to keep the film off the shelves forever. Yes, it's that bad, and its being withheld from the public was a very good thing indeed. (Especially for Brody, who gives two laughable performances in it.)

But that's over with now, as Deadline.com reports that Brody and the producers have settled the suit and GIALLO will see the light of day sometime soon.

Brody had this to say: "I very much enjoyed the process of making Giallo, and am happy that things have been resolved and that people can now enjoy seeing the film."

The only people who will enjoy it are Dario Argento apologists for whom he can do no wrong and pursuers of so-bad-its-good cinema. Everyone else, beware...

The flick doesn't have a release date yet, but we'll give you a heads-up when it does.

Extra Tidbit: The above picture was snapped by yours truly last month. Guess Brody should have done a better job of keeping the DVD off the shelves, eh?
