AFM news pt. 2: horror comedy Inbred acquired by XLrator, zombie war thriller Dead Sand sells

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

The marketplace is too crowded for a single article…

As such, we’re packaging another pair of horror flicks – one acquired, one sold – into a single AFM news piece. You don’t mind, do you?!

Word has dropped that XLrator Media has acquired U.S. rights to the nasty horror comedy INBRED, the newest trailer for which you showed you 2 months ago. Darclight Films, the genre leg of Arclight Films, sold the title to XLrator.

Directed by Alex Chandon, from a script he wrote with Paul Shrimpton – INBRED follows:

A disparate group of young urban offenders and their care workers who embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. A minor incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare for all involved.

Additionally, Stealth Media is selling DEAD SAND, described as a zombie-war thriller. Toby Wilkins (SPLINTER, THE GRUDGE 3) will direct from a script penned by West Point grad and Army Rangers captain Max Adams and Green Beret Brian Anthony. 77 Films will produce.

DEAD SAND, slated for a March start date in Monaco, centers on a team of Special Forces who are assigned to capture and transport an escaped terrorist but are ambushed by a nest of tactically advanced zombies.

Tactically advanced zombies? Written by two former servicemen? Could they know something we don’t? Wow, DEAD SAND sounds awesome!

Tactically advanced zombie hotties!
