Alicia Witt to shamble onto The Walking Dead

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

No show blows through cast members like The Walking Dead, so they're pretty much constantly hiring. The newest to board the zombie train is Alicia Witt as an unspecified character, to be joining the series in the upcoming second half of its sixth season.

Witt is perhaps best known for her roles on Friday Night Lights and Justified, but she has palled around with the horror genre previously in the 1998 teen slasher URBAN LEGEND as the Final Girl Natalie Simon. Considering how that film presented her with the acting challenge of being scared by a killer's Powerpoint motive presentation, The Walking Dead should be a piece of cake.

The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Sonequa-Martin Green, Michael Cudlitz, Merritt Wever, Xander Berkeley, and Tom Payne, with Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Xander Berkeley also appearing in the second half of season six.

The mid-season premiere, which shepherds in an era of "much more Daryl Dixon," premieres on AMC on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2016. The show is also set to return for a seventh season.
