Amazon’s Zombieland pilot delayed a day

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Earlier this week we hit you with the report that Amazon’s pilot for the proposed “Zombieland” series was going to hit Amazon Instant sometime this week and seemingly the reports were true as just yesterday the series released its first trailer that suggested that the pilot was available to watch now at Amazon’s Instant Video site. Those that rushed over to check it out were disappointed to find that when the ‘Watch Now’ button was clicked the only thing that popped up was a 12-second video stating that “Zombieland” was ‘Coming Soon from Amazon Studios’. So what’s the deal? Will we see it this week or not?

The folks over at Shock Till You Drop made inquiries and learned that the release will be delayed until April 19 while some technical bugs are worked out. Wait…what? April 19th? Hey, that’s when “Hemlock Grove” debuts on Netflix! Bad move, Amazon. I’m fairly certain genre fans will be flocking to the Eli Roth-produced series long before checking out the “Zombieland” pilot.

The “Zombieland” pilot comes from the feature film’s original creative team, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and producer Gavin Polone. Eli Craig (TUCKER AND DALE VS. EVIL) directed the pilot. The part of Tallahassee will be played by Kirk Ward, Maiara Walsh is cast as Wichita, Tyler Ross will play Columbus, and Izabela Vidovic has the role of Little Rock.

We will present the proper link and alert you to the premiere when that happens. It remains to be seen if the entire “Zombieland” series will be picked up.
