AMC announces its annual Fearfest lineup! New blood and old favorites!

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

I don’t care what the SAW franchise says, if it’s Halloween, it must be time for AMC’s Fearfest! I know, it’s basic cable and the movies are cut to shit, but dammit if it’s not a tradition I truly enjoy. When I’m not popping flicks into the DVD player, the TV is set to AMC by default, and more often than not, I’ll end up watching these movies I’ve seen a billion times in all their edited, commercial-heavy glory. (Especially HALLOWEEN 4. That thing is on just about every day.)

The two-week marathon will also feature AMC premieres of such films as 28 DAYS LATER, EVIL DEAD II and DAWN OF THE DEAD as well as interviews with both established and upcoming horror filmmakers and actors with “Killer Conversations” and “New Blood” segments airing throughout each night’s primetime film. With nearly 300 hours of Halloween themed programming, including more than 60 films, AMC FEARFEST airs Monday night, October 18 through Sunday, October 31, culminating with the 90-minute world premiere of “The Walking Dead” on Sunday, October 31 at 10pm ET.

FRIDAY THE 13th parts 1-9 will be airing together for the first time, in celebration of the franchise’s 30th Anniversary. You can also expect to see classics like the original FRANKENSTEIN, THE MUMMY and DRACULA, among others.

Throughout AMC FEARFEST, the network will feature conversations between celebrated horror filmmakers including Frank Darabont and award-winning makeup artist Greg Nicotero (“The Walking Dead”); Wes Craven and Mick Garris and more. Each pair will talk candidly about their experience with the genre and what it takes to make a great horror film.

In addition, AMC FEARFEST will profile new and upcoming filmmakers and actors who are creating waves in and transforming the horror genre. Included are Shawnee Smith, James Gunn, and Alexandra Aja, among others. “New Blood” segments airs throughout the primetime AMC Fearfest movies.

For the full schedule, head on over to AMC. (Looks like HALLOWEEN 4 is only on three times!)
