Amity Haunts DeFeo

Maybe it’s one of those cases where life-imitates art-imitates life-imitates art. Or maybe Ronald DeFeo, Jr. is just a stupid, mass-murdering f*ck who should thank his lucky stars he’s still alive at all.

In case the name escapes you, DeFeo is the guy who killed his whole family in 1974 in what has now become the famous Amityville house. He claims that evil spirits made him do it, and the Lutz family’s escapades in the famous movie, sequels and remakes all follow that reasoning.

So why do I bring your attention to Mr. DeFeo today? Because he is apparently trying to stop the current remake because he fears it may hurt his chances at parole, which he’s up for next year. OK, first of all, this guy is supposed to be serving 150 years in Green Haven maximum security prison for the murder of his father, his mother, AND his four siblings. Now you’re telling me he’s up for parole 30 years later? That works out to about 5 years per murder. Nice deal, eh? Is he getting a group discount or something?

So my thoughts are basically, make that movie and get it out quick, ‘cause if it supports this real-life blood soaked f*cker staying in jail for the rest of his natural born life, then it’s already a hit in my book.

In the interest of fairness, feel free to check out this website which brings DeFeo’s perspective some light.
