For decades, the only horror movies with the word Amityville in the title were actual installments in the AMITYVILLE franchise, and there were plenty of them - the original THE AMITYVILLE HORROR, seven sequels, and a remake. In recent years, however, filmmakers have been taking advantage of the fact that anyone can use Amityville in a title, leading to films like THE AMITYVILLE ASYLUM, THE AMITYVILLE HAUNTING, AMITYVILLE DEATH HOUSE, THE AMITYVILLE PLAYHOUSE, and likely more.
The next entry in the franchise will be the long-delayed AMITYVILLE: THE AWAKENING, but while we continue to wait for Dimension to get that film out to us, Uncork'd Entertainment has another Amityville movie lined up for release in 2016. AMITYVILLE TERROR.
When a new family moves to an old house in Amityville, they are tormented and tortured by an evil spirit living in their house, and trapped by the malicious townspeople who want to keep them there.
A specific release date has yet to be announced for AMITYVILLE TERROR, but Uncork'd has released a couple images to give a taste of what's to come.
AMITYVILLE TERROR is directed by Michael Angelo from a screenplay by Amanda Barton and stars Nicole Tompkins, Kaiwi Lyman, Kim Nielsen, Tonya Kay, and Barton.
