Amusement bumped AGAIN

02.06.2008by: Eric Walkuski

Bad news for you people eagerly looking forward to Picturehouse's horror anthology, AMUSEMENT, because the film is changing its release date YET AGAIN. Originally scheduled to hit last January, it was then moved to March, and then to April... Picturehouse was probably planning subsequent moves to May, June, etc., but decided to skip those steps altogether and is going with SEPTEMBER 12. For now...

Written by Jake Wade Wall and directed by John Simpson, AMUSEMENT is about A traumatized woman who's questioned by a cop and a psychiatrist about three stories -- involving a clown, a hotel and a convoy -- that involve her and two of her female friends from childhood. The women are then stalked by a killer with a grudge.

Even though September might ultimately be the ideal month for this flick, you've got to assume we're not awaiting a masterpiece. Either the studio doesn't know how to fix what is a big mess, or they're still deciding what rating to go with (or both). I guess we'll see when the film is eventually released in 2034.

Below is the AMUSEMENT teaser - which I maintain is pretty decent, marred only by a ridiculous "laugh" toward the end. Also check out some stills Picturehouse sent us, some new, some not.
