An American Werewolf in London documentary gets a companion book

04.26.2016by: Cody Hamman

Released in 2009, director Paul Davis's documentary BEWARE THE MOON: REMEMBERING AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON was a feature-length exploration of one of the most popular werewolf tales ever told, John Landis's 1981 film AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON. As extensive as the documentary was, Davis is promising to "blow it away" with the release of his 200 page hardcover book Beware the Moon: The Story of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON.

Davis conducted hours of interviews with the people involved with AMERICAN WEREWOLF that couldn't be fit into a feature documentary, but the information from those excised hours will be found within the pages of the book, which will feature over 300 behind the scenes photos from the making of the film alongside interviews with over 35 members of the cast and crew, including new commentary from Landis and special effects artist Rick Baker. Mick Garris provided the foreword.

Beware the Moon is being sold exclusively through CultScreenings.co.uk and they are now accepting pre-orders. The first 1000 copies sold will be numbered and signed by the author, so if you want to nab one of those you'd better make your order soon.

Copies are expected to start shipping out in August, coinciding with AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON's 35th anniversary.

Extra Tidbit: Will you be buying a copy of this book?
