Another trailer for the Prometheus trailer brings us even more footage

Yesterday saw us receive the "countdown trailer" for the PROMETHEUS trailer; basically a quick c*cktease for the official trailer that's set to hit in a few days. I figured that would be that, but that's not that: we've got another preview for the flick, and though it's getting a little silly at this point, I don't think we're going to turn away Sir Ridley Scott at this juncture.

In this tease we get some flamethrower and gun-shooting action, some awesome shots of the strange alien world where the movie takes place, and yet more from Ridley talking up PROMETHEUS' mysterious plot points. You know you can't resist, so just watch the damn thing already!

Ridley Scott, director of "Alien" and "Blade Runner," returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

The film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron (pictured below); we'll see it hatch on JUNE 8, 2012.

Extra Tidbit: What do you think of this "countdown trailer" strategy?

Looks good and pretty tantalising but.....

trailers for the trailer? really? is this what we're getting to now? Just release the damn thing. I have to say one thing Im finding frustrating is everytime Ridley Scott and his cast and crew talk about it they talk down the Alien element ALOT yet the trailers use it as a major selling point. Confusing and could lead to a lot of frustrated viewers. Me though?.....cant wait for it!
