Anthology film’s trailer shows what horrors happen In the Dark

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Inspired by CREEPSHOW, TALES FROM THE CRYPT, and the works of John Carpenter, David Cronenberg, and Brian De Palma, Nashville-based filmmakers Chris St. Croix and David Buchert have put together a horror anthology entitled IN THE DARK (not to be confused with the David Spaltro film of the same name), each of them directing two of the movie's four "dark, sexy, twisted, bloody, and horrific" tales of terror.

Synopsis:

When two killers hiding out in a rundown motel discover a bag of videotapes, they realize that the horror isn't only on the TV screen. An axe wielding maniac, a murderous matchmaker, and a sin-slaying creature from Hell wait for them… IN THE DARK.

The segments directed by St. Croix are called The Keeper and To Be Loved, while Buchert's segments are Dummy and The Motel.

Gravitas Ventures will be releasing IN THE DARK on all digital, cable, and VOD platforms on October 6th, and the movie is currently available for pre-order on iTunes. To help potential viewers decide if IN THE DARK is something they want to check out, a trailer has been released online and can be seen below.

The filmmakers note that they didn't have any money to work with, but while the low budget is evident in some shots, there is some nice cinematography on display in the trailer, along with a cool-looking slasher, goo, gore, and what appears to be a replica of The Night Slasher's knife from COBRA. IN THE DARK seems like a good time to me.
