Welcome to AROUND THE CAMPFIRE, a weekly column that takes a gander at what the horror fans around our virtual campfire (i.e.  the ARROW IN THE HEAD HORROR FORUMS) are yapping about before they get whacked...  or before they do the nasty and THEN get whacked.  Top 5 Favorite Slasher Films?

"Psycho, Black Christmas. Halloween, Jason Lives, The Rise of Leslie Vernon"

Poughkeepsie Tapes

"I was given a copy, a friend had told me it was the most disturbing film she'd seen, and I can see why she thought that, but for me it wasn't at all. But it wasn't a let down or anything, I just thought the acting by some of the people was not very good and brought down what was over all a pretty decent film.."

What's the last HORROR movie you saw?

"Anguish (1987) - 7.5/10
A slasher in one respect but far removed from your typical stalk-kill-repeat formula. The acting is a little choppy in some parts, but I like some cheese in the right places! A fairly original concept for the time and that earns it major points."

"The Devil's Chair (2006) - 7/10

A British film that was not very good for the first half (I almost shut it off) but really picked up in the second half. Good performances by the lead actor and actress but the others were either awful or underused. I liked what the director was going for here (concept wise) but sadly its been done before and done better."
