Ash vs. Evil Dead Bruce Campbell

As we reported a few months agoAsh vs. Evil Dead showrunner Craig DiGregio stepped down over creative differences at the end of season 2 and MY NAME IS BRUCE writer Mark Verheiden is taking over for season 3. This creative shake-up resulted in some last minute changes being made to the season 2 finale and that episode turned out to be a bumpy transition between showrunner visions; there are things in there that don't make a whole lot of sense. My description of the final moments was "frustratingly mind-boggling". Regardless, we move forward.

Season two gave our hero Ash (Bruce Campbell) a surprisingly happy ending, and it looks like he's going to be building a new life for himself in his hometown of Elk Grove, Michigan. Judging by a new casting announcement, it seems we now know who will be playing an Elk Grove resident we'll be meeting in the new season.

Arielle Carver-O'Neill (pictured below) has signed on for a series regular role in season 3. Her character's name is Brandy and she's described as "a smart middle-class American high school senior whose life is up-ended when she finds herself caught up in violent demonic events."

Carver-O'Neill joins a returning cast that includes Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago, and Michelle Hurd.

A continuation of Sam Raimi's EVIL DEAD trilogy, Ash vs. Evil Dead centers on

Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons – personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

The show's third season is expected to start airing on Starz this fall.
