Awake trailer wakes up

10.27.2007by: Jared Pacheco
This is the first time I'm hearing of Joby Harold's AWAKE, and I have to say it looks pretty sweet. It's got a great cast and the first trailer for the film has just hit the net via Yahoo! Movies.

Watching the trailer, I got reminded of Stephen King's short story AUTOPSY ROOM 4. The two stories have the same basic plot, a man is supposed to be dead/knocked out, but actually isn't and can hear everything that's happening to him on the hospital table. The plot for AWAKE is: A successful young man is put to sleep for a heart surgery and suffers 'anesthetic awareness,' meaning he is actually awake and aware of everything going on, but is paralyzed. He must try and find a way to awake and save his life with the help of his wife while she battles her own demons.

The cast includes Hayden Christensen, Lena Olin, Jessica Alba (below), and Terrence Howard. From the looks of the trailer, this is a great cast for the film. It was written and directed by Joby Harold. To check out the trailer, you can head over here. It's a basic trailer that gives a great feel for the whole movie. It definately got me interested. Then again, anything with the words Jessica and Alba get me interested. The film is slated to hit theaters February 26, 2008.

Jessica Alba, I don't even need to add a comment, just enjoy.

Oh man. I saw this well over a year ago and boy was it bad. stay away from this. the cast is decent and I must say they did a nice job cutting together a trailer from such a bad film, but don't let it fool you. No one from Alba to Terrence Howard comes out of this looking good. It is campy fun though if thats your thing. For a drama, I laughed more than most of the comedies i have seen.
