Blood goes to Sci Fi

Last Updated on July 26, 2021

In an announcement that surprised the hell out of me, BOOK OF BLOOD director John Harrison (who also gave us TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE: THE MOVIE) told peeps at last weekend’s WEEKEND OF HORRORS that his film adaptation of Clive Barker’s BOOK OF BLOOD will be debuting on… the Sci Fi Channel!

Following the likes of other genre flicks (like Eric Red’s 100 FEET), the independent horror flick found distribution, not into theaters, but on the cable network, and then later, on DVD. As this is a trend that seems to happen more and more often, dare I say this is the wave of the future? Premiering on Cable TV, then on DVD?

The biggest shocker is that BOOK OF BLOOD has, from what I’ve heard, a ton of blood and nudity. So it’s premiere will be the super water-downed version… but at least there’s always DVD for the unrated, uncut, and uncensored cut to look forward to, right?

No date has been announced yet, but September is looking like the probable month. Could we see the DVD in October, just in time for Halloween? Only if we’re lucky…. Click HERE to see full scoop, and get ready for more on BOOK OF BLOOD on the Sci Fi Channel as we hear it!
