Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Scream Factory, the best in the genre distribution business, has found the next film to spiff up and gift upon the masses: Brian De Palma’s cult classic PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE.

In the unusual case you’re not familiar with this oddity, it’s De Palma’s twisted take on “Phantom of the Opera” starring William Finlay, Gerritt Graham and the incomparable Paul Williams. Here’s the synopsis:

Composer Winslow Leach (William Finley) is determined to seek revenge on Swan (Williams), an evil record tycoon who steals his pop cantana of the Faust legend to launch his enemy’s palace as the mysterious Phantom of the Paradise and continues to plan his gruesome retaliation.

Per the company’s Facebook page: “This marks the first time the film will be on blu-ray for the first time in the U.S. and Canada. Expect this to be in the ‘Collector’s Edition’ series with new extras but we have no other details to report at this time as our deal for this was literally just signed so stay tuned here in the Spring of next year for more info to emerge.”

Look out for PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE in the summer of ’14.
