Chilling Adventures of Sabrina adds Jaz Sinclair to the cast

Jaz Sinclair

I really enjoyed Jaz Sinclair's obsessed psycho performance in the 2016 thriller WHEN THE BOUGH BREAKS, so it's cool to hear that the actress will be joining Kiernan Shipka in Netflix's upcoming "horror take on Sabrina the Teenage Witch" series.

The series had been going by the title Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which was also the title of the Sabrina horror comic book that was written by creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, but they seem to be re-thinking that title.

Sabrina will be played by Shipka in the series, which is said to be tonally in the vein of ROSEMARY'S BABY and THE EXORCIST. A reimagining of the origin and adventures of the Archie Comics character, this show

finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal, while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.

Sabrina Spellman is described as an empowered young woman — half-human, half-witch — who is just beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. Intelligent, compassionate and brave to the point of recklessness, Sabrina is all that stands between us and the forces of darkness that threaten our world.

Sinclair's character is Rosalind Walker, "the brash, empowered and outspoken daughter of Greendale's minister and Sabrina's best friend at Baxter High."

Netflix has given a two season, 20 episode order to the series, and the seasons will be shot back-to-back, keeping Shipka and Sinclair busy for most of the year. The first season's 10 episodes will be shot from February to June, and the second season's will be shot from June to October.
