Whether we want it or not there's a reboot of CARRIE on the way. And if these early casting rumblings are any indication we might be in for one hell of a flick.
You see according to NY Mag's Vulture the two actresses at the top of the studio's wishlist are Chloe Moretz and Haley Bennett! Now there's a 9-year age difference between Moretz (below) and Bennett so I have no idea where they're going with this but I suppose I can see it working... Other actresses that have been considered include Dakota Fanning, Emily Browning, Bella Heathcote and Lily Collins.
Get this - Director Kimberly Peirce is also close to casting the role of Carrie's mother! Who is the filmmaker looking at in the role? Oscar winners Jodie Foster and Julianne Moore! Yeah, that just came from left field.
So it seems Pierce and company are aiming high with this remake. Maybe it won't be half bad? As soon as we hear anything else concerning the picture we'll be right here to tell you about it.

As for Margaret, her casting is crucial, since the wrong actress would make it a caricature (like Piper Laurie, however, she believed the film was intended to be comical). Foster or Moore could probably be great...though I'd rather someone like Kathy Bates.

Moretz please!!!!!
