Classic horror characters come together in Gothica

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

There are numerous upcoming horror themed TV projects in the works with the upcoming HANNIBAL, DRACULA and UNDER THE DOME just to name a few. Now, we’ve got another one heading our way by the name of GOTHICA. Deadline reports that ABC’s GOTHICA has cast its first lead characters of Dorian Gray who will be played by Chris Egan (right) (RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION) and Tom Ellis (below) snags the role of Victor Frankenstein. The project will be set in the present day, which weaves together a mythology that sticks the legends of Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein and Dorian Gray together.

In this incarnation of the story Victor Frankenstein runs a hospital that also does biotech research and believes that he may have a way to bring his recently deceased daughter back to life. Victor (Ellis) was once romantically involved with the show’s lead character, Grace Van Helsing. Dorian Gray (Egan) is a wealthy playboy that invests $20 million in Grace’s newspaper.

GOTHICA is written by Matt Lopez and is being co-produced by The Mark Gordon Company. With so many TV shows delving into the horror genre there is bound to be some very crappy series on our hands. GOTHICA sounds pretty solid and the idea of some of horror’s most classic monsters sharing the same screen is mouth watering.

More to come!
