Confirmed: Roel Reine hops back in the car to direct Death Race 3

The last rumblings we heard from DEATH RACE 3‘s engine, writer Tony Giglio was strapping on the seat belt to reprise his duties from part 2. At that time however, in mid July, we were not entirely sure who would be behind the wheel.

As I try to exhaust all automotive metaphors, I’ll have you know DEATH RACE 2 director Roel Reine is jumping back in the driver’s seat for DEATH RACE 3. Same writer, same director…has to rock a similar vibe, right?

From an official presser, Death Race 3 will take place in a different prison in Africa, where the iconic character Frankenstein (played by Luke Goss) has to race his fellow prisoners in all newly designed and newly build ‘Death Race Cars’. Shooting will start this November in South Africa.

Aside from Goss, Danny Trejo and Tanit Phoenix (below) are set to star.
