The terms "Classic" and "Masterpiece" are thrown around by critics so often nowadays that you almost have to question if the words truly have any meaning anymore. But Ridley Scott's 1979 horror masterpiece ALIEN is a true classic in every sense of the word. Often imitated, never duplicated, the film spawned countless rip-offs that never quite came close to evoking the sheer dread of the original film. Further, the titular monstrosity, designed by swiss surrealist HR Giger, has never been topped in design and effectiveness. The design was all Giger. But much of the Alien's effectiveness could be credited to the man inside the suit.
6'10" Nigerian actor Bolaji Badejo played the Alien in Ridley Scott's film. His tall, lanky frame was the perfect fit to help make the creature memorably terrifying. Today we have a cool horror video featuring Badajo as he practises the Alien's movements with a mock-up head in the corridors of the Nostromo.
