Now here’s a piece of news that just jumps up and slaps you across the face: Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon are teaming up for a genre flick.

Yeah you read that right and yes I’m serious. No joke folks, April was months ago. Now I should probably take a step back…. This isn’t going to be an all out genre flick. Actually it’s described as ‘a supernatural thriller in the vein of THE SIXTH SENSE.’ Well if it’s in the vein of THE SIXTH SENSE then it should be pretty f*cked up and right down our alley!

The flick is called HEREAFTER. Eastwood will be directing with Matt Damon starring. Eastwood and Damon aren’t the only big names behind this one either… Peter Morgan penned the original script. Morgan of course being the Academy Award nominated writer of flicks like THE QUEEN and FROST/NIXON. Not only that… the great Steven Spielberg is on board as an executive producer! Joining him in executive producing will be Frank Marshall, Peter Morgan and Tim Moore. Eastwood will be producing along with Kathleen Kennedy and Robert Lorenz for Warner Brothers through his Malpaso banner.

HEREAFTER was originally set up at DreamWorks early last year. Once DreamWorks split from Paramount they kept hold of HEREAFTER and have now passed it along to Warner Bros, obviously. So what do you think? Eastwood and Damon crossing over to supernatural territory? I’m digging it very much! Both guys are Grade A in my book so color me stoked!

Unfortunately we don’t know any details on the actual flick just yet but lensing is set to start this Fall so hopefully we’ll be hearing some more on HEREAFTER soon! As always be sure to keep it here for updates.
