One Scream star would still love to do Scream 5

I don't know if anyone out there knows this about me (yeah, right) but my favorite horror flick of all-time is Wes Craven's meta-slasher SCREAM. It was one of the first horror movies I ever saw, and I saw it so young that it burned into my brain for years.

And so you might be able to imagine that I'm dying for the day that we hear news on SCREAM 5. Hell, I'd even take a remake at this point, truthfully. And it seems that Sheriff Dewey Riley aka David Arquette is just as game as I am for more SCREAM.

David Arquette on SCREAM 5:

Yeah, absolutely. I would love to do that. I think [Wes Craven would] still be a part of it in an incredible way. It would be like a tribute almost. Yeah, I think it would be really fun. I love everyone involved in it. Neve is such an anchor, and so incredible as an actress. I think there’s something there. Who knows, I think it’d be fun. I think we lost some of the fans along the way, but I think there could be a resurgence at some point… where there’s more nostalgia for it.

Again, I'd be down for even a remake/reboot of SCREAM at this point just to get more Ghostface back in my life. Sure MTV (supposedly) has the third season of their teen-horror SCREAM: THE TV SERIES coming our way one of these days, but I need more. More blood. More guts. More Ghostface. Bring it on, Blumhouse!

The last time we saw Ghostface and the rest of the SCREAM team on the big screen was in Craven's SCREAM 4 which followed this synopsis:

It has been many years since the Ghostface Killer cut a deadly path through the town of Woodsboro. In order to get over the trauma of those horrific events, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has written a self-help book. She returns to Woodsboro for her book tour, and reconnects with old friends Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette). However, Sidney's arrival also sparks the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney and everyone she loves in danger.

The fourth, and "final" installment in the series was directed by Wes Craven (his final feature film before his death in 2015) from a screenplay written by Kevin Williamson. It starred Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Anthony Anderson, Alison Brie, Adam Brody, Rory Culkin, Marielle Jaffe, Erik Knudsen, Mary McDonnell, Marley Shelton, and Nico Tortorella.
