David Cronenberg lines up Moore, Pattinson, Cusack for Maps to the Stars

David Cronenberg has been attempting to get MAPS TO THE STARS off the ground for several years, but now it looks like it has finally come together for the director. Deadline reports that Julianne Moore, John Cusack, as well as Cronenberg’s COSMOPOLIS stars Robert Pattinson and Sarah Gadon, are all on board the project, which begins production in July.

While we know very little about the plot, it’s described as “a ghost story that is also a scathing attack on celebrity-obsessed LA.” The screenplay was written by Bruce Wagner, who co-wrote NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3 and created the surreal 1993 TV series “Wild Palms”.

Entertainment One will handle worldwide sales at Cannes next month, and will distribute in the U.S., Canada, the UK, and Australia and New Zealand.
