David Goyer says his Invisible Man remake is still alive & kicking

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Do you guys remember that INIVISIBLE MAN remake David Goyer was working on for Universal? I’m sure it’s ringing some bells, right? I know I vaguely remember hearing about this thing. I say vaguely because we haven’t heard zilch from the project since 2008. 2008 people! That’s three years ago! Jeez. Where has this one been?

Well according to Goyer it’s still alive and kicking over at Universal. The LA Times recently caught up with the filmmaker and asked him what the deal was with the project. Check out what he had to say:

“It’s a period film but it’s period like Downey’s ’Sherlock Holmes.’ .. It’s period but it’s a reinvention of the character in the sort of way that Stephen Sommers exploded ‘The Mummy’ into a much bigger kind of mythology. That’s kind of what we’ve done with ‘The Invisible Man.’ … It’s something slowly working its way through the Universal development channels,” he said. “It’s still alive. We did some pre-vis tests and things like that that they were very happy with. Now we’re going through the casting process. if they get the right lead, they’ll make it.”

So there you have it folks! It seems this thing has been quietly moving right along and is now in the casting stages. Who would’ve thought?

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’d definitely be down to revisit THE INVISIBLE MAN with David Goyer. Needless to say we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for more on this project so be sure to check back soon for any updates that fly our way!

Good thing this Invisible Woman isn’t invisible!
