Dawn of the Planet of the Apes featurette shows off motion-capture

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Here’s a short but sweet featurette for Matt Reeves’ DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES showing a side-by-side comparison of the film’s actors in their motion-capture suits and their simian counterparts. Even though we’re quite familiar with the technology at this point, it’s still fascinating to watch it in action.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo, Karin Konoval, and Judy Greer all star in DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, opening July 11th.
