Dawn of the Planet of the Apes sets new release date

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Guess who's coming a week earlier than expected? Twentieth Century Fox has just moved DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES to its brand new date of July 11, 2014! It's not a huge move, but I'd rather a film get closer as opposed to getting pushed back because waiting sucks, man! I'm really looking forward to seeing what Matt Reeves brings to the world of ruling apes; hopefully he can build off of the fantastic RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and deliver us another solid APES flick!

Side note: I just recently watched the original PLANET OF THE APES for the first time (better late than never, right!) and I totally understand why everyone hates the Tim Burton version now…

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

APES stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell, Gary Oldman, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Kirk Acevedo, Toby Kebbell, Enrique Murciano and Judy Greer.
