Day of the Dead: Bloodline rated R for bloody violence & gore

09.22.2017by: Mike Sprague

Earlier this month we let you guys know that Saban Films has picked up the new DAY OF THE DEAD remake and plans to distribute the flick into theaters "by the end of the year."

Well, it looks like Saban is making good on their promise as the DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE has just been given an R-rating by the MPAA for "bloody violence and gore, language and brief sexuality/nudity."

As you may or may not know, films that go straight to video - or VOD nowadays - have no need to garner a rating from the MPAA so most tend to skip this annoying step. Meaning that DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE could very well be heading to theaters this year.

For better or worse...

What do you think of DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE thus far? Does this rating hurt or help your enthusiasm? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE synopsis:

In a post-apocalyptic, zombie-filled society, a former med school student is tormented by a dark figure from her past. The only thing is, he’s a half-human, half-zombie hell-bent on destroying her world.

DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE is directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens and stars Sophie Skelton, Lorina Kamburova, Marcus Vanco, Nick Loeb, Rachel O’Meara, Debbie Sherman, Luke Cousins, Nathan Cooper, Cristina Serafini, and Johnathon Schaech as Max.

DAY OF THE DEAD: BLOODLINE is set to hit theaters in 2017.

Extra Tidbit: Romero wouldn't have bothered with a rating. Just sayin'.
