District 9's Terri Tatchell adapting Amanda Hocking's Trylle trilogy

03.28.2011by: Alex DiVincenzo

Media Rights Capital has purchased the rights to Amanda Hocking's "Trylle" trilogy and will develop the supernatural tale into two films. The series, self-published by Hocking, consists of Switched, Torn and Ascend.

"Switch" centers on a teenage girl who discovers that she may not be human and finds herself in a world she never knew existed -- a world both beautiful and frightening in which she's unsure she wants to be a part of it.

DISTRICT 9 co-writer Terri Tatchell (right) has signed on to write both scripts, and she is also on board as a producer. The film will be distributed by Universal as part of their deal with Media Rights Capital.

Extra Tidbit: Tatchell is also working on a script for a sci-fi flick called TERMINUS.

sounds kinda like it would be for the twilight crowd...Unless its gets an "R" rating. Then I'll be interested. I've seen TERMINUS. Its that short film about a guy who is followed by a big stone dude who follows him wherever he goes. pretty cool short flick, dont know how shes gonna expand on it...
