Doomsday/Strangers producers venturing to Skeleton Creek

Intrepid Pictures, the shingle behind flicks like THE STRANGERS and Neil Marshall’s DOOMSDAY, is getting into the young adult game with SKELETON CREEK, reports Variety. The series of books by Patrick Carmen utilize video tie-ins to help tell its story; evidently it has a popular following, so it was probably only a matter of time before it made the journey to the big screen.

The series is set in Skeleton Creek, Ore., where two teens encounter a potentially supernatural entity while exploring an abandoned gold mine, launching them into an investigation of their town’s long-buried secrets.

Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson will adapt SKELETON CREEK; no director has been attached yet.

Has anyone out there read – or knows a tween who has read – these books?
