You’re seeing this right: another flippin’ DVD release of THE EVIL DEAD! What, praytell, does this release offer that the previous 72 releases haven’t? How’s about 3 discs worth of shite to keep you busy? If you love (and I mean LOVE) this movie, and you already own a copy, this may be worth the double dip. If you just like watching Ash and his cronies get f*cked up by an evil force and extras don’t mean shite, then stick with one of the many previously released versions. And if you DON’T already have this in your DVD collection, now would be the time to get off your ass and do so, don’t ya think?

Any movie that our very own Arrow calls a hard freaking watch has to be about as hardcore as they get. Based on the book by Jack Ketchum, this flick may be the most hardcore flick released all year. You’re cup of tea? If depression and torture is your thang, be sure to snag this beast up – and just in time for the holidays, too.

MIDNIGHT MOVIES: FROM THE MARGIN TO THE MAINSTREAM – November 13th
Here’s a documentary that just may be worth your time and energy, especially if your a fan of the midnight cinema of the 1970s. This bad boy won a bunch of awards when it hit the film fest circuit not too long ago, so if you’re girlfriend’s nagging you to watch more documentaries with her… well, bring this one by, as it’s probably far more entertaining than watching animals in the arctic migrate. Seriously.
