FOX HORROR CLASSICS VOL. 2 - September 9th
Three horror classics for the price of one--you can't beat those odds! Given, I've never heard or seen any of these so-called 'classics,' but they have to be good, right? RIGHT??? Just because they're OLD doesn't make them CLASSICS, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Not sure if it's worth a blind-buy, but for the right price... it'd probably be worth it.
3 Disks all featuring
THE WIZARD OF GORE - August 19th
The long-awaited remake of Herschell Gordon Lewis's 1970 gorefest is finally being unleashed, courtesy of Dimension Extreme. I could probably give a flying f*ck about this remake except for two things: Cripsen Glover and the Suicide Girls. Glover, because he's apeshit crazy and I love seeing that dude on the screen (big or small), and the Suicide Girls... because they're hot. It feels like this beast has been trying to make it on DVD for so long, I gotta give it some love seeing as it finally has.
REST STOP: DON’T LOOK BACK - October 7th
The cover is one part original REST STOP, one part HITCHER remake, and full of contradiction. It's called DON'T LOOK BACK, and yet the dude with the big-ass gun is looking back! Don't you follow your own rules!!! From what I've heard, REST STOP didn't really deserve a sequel, and based on this cover... well, hell, it may be so bad it's good.
HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS: 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION - August 5th
Hard to believe its been 20 years since the release of Fred Olen Ray's HOLLYWOOD CHAINSAW HOOKERS. To this day, this film still has the best title of all time. Some have tried, but all have failed in comparison. Featuring our favorite chainsaw wielder Gunnar Hansen, and a bunch of hookers with chainsaws, it's nice to see it getting the 'Anniversary' treatment. As I currently don't have this title in my collection (shame on me!) this is the perfect excuse to do so. Hollywood, chainsaws, and hookers... how did they ever figure out to put them all together? Classic B-movie camp at its finest.
PHANTASM 4: OBLIVION –August 26th – Because I didn’t even know there was a fourth PHANTASM until today… it’s like Christmas in June!
SOMETHING BENEATH –September 9th – Because it stars Keven f*cking Sorbo and features a monster judging a wet T-shirt contest!
FRIDAY THE 13TH September 9th - Because it’s nice to see that Paramount remembers what entry the Hockey mask came into play.
That's all for this week! Stay tuned every week for your latest DVD news, and as always, feel free to shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org ) for any & all DVD news, scoops, and easter eggs!
