THEY WAIT – September 16th
After living in Shanghai for three years, Sarah (King), her husband, Jason, and
their young son, Sammy, return to North America for a family funeral. But
something strange is going on. Sammy starts seeing ghosts and then falls gravely
ill. Traditional western medicine offers no hope. Sarah turns to a mysterious
pharmacist who warns that her son is being held in a death grip by a living
corpse. Sarah must find out what the spirits want if she is to save her child.
Time is of the essence; once the sun rises the next day, the last day of Ghost
Month, Sammy will be lost forever. The spirits have spoken.

RETURN TO SLEEPAWAY CAMP – October 14th
The classic
SLEEPAWAY saga continues on DVD, as the long awaited sequel is
finally hitting the small screen with a generic DVD cover to boot. It’s
actually not horrible… I’ve seen worse… but if I just happened to see this
sitting on the shelf, I’d think it was a movie from 1988 not 2008. Maybe that’s
the look/image they’re going for, which is cool, just not sure if it’s the
smartest idea. Hooray for a high body count and gratuitous nudity!

STUCK – October 7th
Stuart Gordon rocked the casbah with EDMOND, a flick that didn’t seem to fit the director of FROM BEYOND‘s usual fare. So color me stoked to check out STUCK, another movie starring Mena Suvari that seems inline with what he did with EDMOND, and considering how that turned out… I can’t flippin’ wait! The cover is generic as hell (like CRASH or thirty other movies like it), but it could be worse… or could it? It’s pretty bad…

ZOMBIE STRIPPERS – October 28th
Take one part Jenna Jameson, one part zombie, one part stripper, mix them together with a dash of Robert Englund, and you have yourselves… ZOMBIE STRIPPERS! I’m bummed I missed it on the big screen, and can’t wait to check it out on the small–and just in time for Halloween! How convenient! Stoked they kept the theatrical poster for the DVD as it’s cheesy and classy all at the same time. Very nice!

JOY RIDE 2: DEAD AHEAD – October 7th
Not sure if it needed a follow up, the STD sequel to the Paul Walker thrill-ride JOY RIDE looks promising… if it didn’t steal it’s name from another STD horror sequel (REST STOP: DEAD AHEAD). But I can look beyond that, especially as the cover rocks pretty hard and the tagline is catchy. Not only that, but it’s a PSA as well, because, detours can be deadly.
