THE RING TWO

Okay, it might have been the worst sequel in the history of all horror films but there is some hope for the DVD release as it is set to be unrated. Hideo Nakata’s The Ring Two (see Arrow’s review here) will be uncut and run approximately 20 minutes longer than the theatrical release. Maybe this will fill some of the plot holes and weak story that was ever so present in this film. Here’s what’s to be expected on the DVD…

Includes:

• Another 18 minutes of deleted scenes
RINGS, the short film revealing the connection between THE RING and its sequel (originally released in a package with the first film), with a special introduction by producer Walter F. Parkes
Faces of Fear: The Cast : Interviews with Naomi Watts, Simon Baker, David Dorfman, Elizabeth Perkins and Sissy Spacek
Fear on Film: Special Effects featurette with Nakata, the producers and the visual FX team
Samara: From Eye To Icon featurette on the movies’ villain, including a time-lapse look at Rick Baker’s five-hour makeup process
The Power of Symbols featurette, in which the filmmakers as well as psychologists and urban myth experts discuss Samara, the Asian myths and ghost stories that inspired her and the impact of such stories
HBO First Look: The Making Of THE RING TWO behind-the-scenes segment
• Cast/crew biographies and production notes

There is also going to be a PG-13 DVD release as well with minimum special features. I’m pretty sure I know which version you rather have in your DVD collection so Click here to pre-order the Unrated Edition.
