QUARANTINE - February 17th

I never got the chance to see this remake of [REC], but everything I heard from those who did check it out said it was pretty good... a shot for shot remake of the original. And since the original was so good, it's no wonder this carbon copy was good as well. But you know what's not so good? This DVD cover. Mirroring the film's theatrical poster, I just don't see the point. There's no better image to use than Jennifer Carpenter being hauled away screaming? Ah well... the flick made some bank, so I guess it was effective enough. But what's this? A ghoul in the background? Say... I haven't seen that before!

The Goods:

  • Commentary with Writer/Director John Erick Dowdle and Writer/Producer Drew Dowdle
  • Locked In: The Making-of Quarantine featurette
  • Anatomy of a Stunt featurette
  • Dressing the Infected: Make-Up Design featurette

    RED MIST - February 10th

I don't even know what this shit is about, other than this chick on the cover looks craaaa-zeee! Like really flippin' crazy! Like, so crazy I wouldn't want to be caught in an alley with her... not even on my best day! The flick features Arielle Kebbel, and though she's hot, I think this crazy chick on the cover and Kebbel are... you guessed it... the same person! Nooooooo!

    The Goods:

  • 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen
  • English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround
  • Making of Red Mist featurette
  • The Cast in Northern Ireland featurette
  • An interview with star Arielle Kebbel

    New to Blu-Ray:

DONNIE DARKO: DIRECTORS CUT - February 10th

A buddy of mine once said that DONNIE DARKO changed his life. Seriously, after he watched why people wear stupid human suits, his life (according to him) was changed forever. And now it can change a second time, with this super deluxe director's cut chocked full of extras and a wicked cover. Hell, this set even comes with a separate DVD that has all the special features... not sure why they couldn't have included that on the Blu-Ray itself, but why question these things? Long live Donnie Darko!

    The Goods:

  • Widescreen
  • English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio
  • Commentary with Writer/Director Richard Kelly and Jake Gyllenhaal on the theatrical cut
  • Second commentary with cast and crew on the theatrical cut
  • Commentary with Writer/Director Richard Kelly and Kevin Smith on the director's cut
  • Donnie Darko Production Diary with optional commentary by director of photography Steven Poster (on DVD)
  • Storyboard to screen featurette (on DVD)
  • #1 Fan: A Darkomentary (on DVD)
  • Directors cut theatrical trailer (on DVD)

    O.K.

Dead in 3 Days is from the country who gave the world Adolf. I hope Austrians know how to make a horror flick.

Mischa Barton's ass is beautiful (Closing the Ring) and, as thank you, I will watch Walled In. Plus I love mysterious buildings.

Red Victoria - will it be as good zombie comedy as Dance of the Dead?

This girl on the photo - nice buttocks...
