VAMPIRE KILLERS - December 29

Nothing like a DVD cover totally ripping off this year's biggest zombie hit... for a flippin' vampire movie, no less. Oh well. At least these vampires have sharp teeth and don't glitter in the sunshine. Actually, looks like a pretty fun flick with tons of vampire killings to keep the shortest attention span interested.

The Goods:

  • Widescreen
  • Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround
  • TBA

    PANDORUM - December 22

This flick blew me away when I caught it in theaters, and I thought for sure more people would have loved it. But sadly, I find myself on lonesome territory discussing this flick, as most people thought it was just 'ok.' But screw it, listen to me (not everyone else) when I say this flick is worth your time and then some. F*ckin' awesome space horror right here! Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster own!

    The Goods:

  • Widescreen
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround
  • Audio commentary
  • World of Elysium: Behind the Scenes featurette
  • Flight Team Training Video
  • Deleted and alternate scenes
  • Still galleries

    THE KEEPER - January 19

The world just doesn't seem right if there isn't a new Steven Seagal flick out. Right about the time I was gonna give up, out comes THE KEEPER, Seagal's answer to looking like TAKEN but not at all. He might be bigger than your average action hero, but believe you me... Steven Seagal can still kick your ass.

    The Goods:

  • Anamorphic Widescreen
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound
  • TBA

    TRUNK - December 15

This little flick caught me by surprise in its sheer awesomeness. Cool cover, cool concept, there's absolutely no reason not to check this sucker out! I'm digging the tagline, and the clever liscense plate too. Let's just say this movie has 'horror funness' written all over it. That, or the marketing folks have completely fooled me and it's really just a steaming pile of poo. Wouldn't be the first time...

    The Goods:

  • Anamorphic Widescreen
  • Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound
  • TBA

    DVD Covers:

    Honorable Mentions:

SURROGATES – January 26th – Because Bruce Willis is in kick-ass mode, and TERMINATOR-like robots are on the recieving end!

THE MARINE 2 – December 29th – Because the action in the MARINE was phat enough to warrant a sequel... so why the hell not???

GIVE 'EM HELL, MALONE (Blu-ray) - January 26th– Because Thomas Jane's the f*ckin' man, yo!

That's all for this week! Stay tuned every week for your latest DVD news, and as always, feel free to shoot me an email (ammongilbert@joblo.com ) for any & all DVD news, scoops, and easter eggs!

    Marine

I thought MARINE played like an entertaining 80s action movie without the blood-splattering violence. But did it warrant a sequel... meh. That said, I can't help but want to check it out! Now where's SEE NO EVIL 2???

    LVK!

thats a shame the title 'Lesbian Vampire Killers' was about the only interesting thing about the whole movie. It was unfunny, the 'lesbians' unconvincing and the whole thing was an attempt to get Corden and Horne a 'Shaun of the Dead' style vehicle . But they are no Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. Its a total farce and whereas Shaun was a parody made by people who were fans of horror, this is just fails on every level.
