DVD BUZZ-SAW #53

May. 11, 2006by: Ammon Gilbert

TAMARA - Released this Week

High school can be cruel, especially towards those hot chicks made dorky cause they wear glasses. Watch this movie to see what happens to the ‘cool’ people when they kill the wrong girl. Who just happens to be a witch. And smokin’ hot. While some folks didn’t think too highly of this flick in theaters, a movie like this always seems to play better on DVD. Did I mention how hot star Jenna Dewan is?

The Goods:

  • Dolby Digital 5.1 – English
  • Dolby Digital Stereo 2.0 - English
  • Subtitles - English, Spanish - optional
  • Audio Commentary - Jeremy Haft - Director, Jeffrey Reddick - Writer

    ASYLUM - July 25th

This classic Hammer Film, from 1972, is presented in all it’s Unrated glory here on DVD. FEED - July 25th

We mentioned this sick bitch a while back, and now we finally have the cover and the specs. I don’t know if this makes me want to see it even more… or even less. I usually like eating popcorn while watching flicks at home, but this… I might have to give up food for awhile. Of course, when it hits Speedo season will be in full effect, so that might be a good idea.

    The Goods:

  • Interviews with actors Alex O’Loughlin and Jack Thompson and producer Melissa Beauford
  • Final day interview with Leonard
  • 10 deleted scenes
  • Alternate ending
  • FEED in Philadelphia: The North American Premiere featurette
  • Inside the Fat Suit featurette
  • Infomercial

  • SEVERED: FOREST OF THE DEAD - August 1st

Just look at the cover. How cool does that look? Sure, it’s CGI up the wazoo, but come on people- it’s a movie about genetically altered trees that summon the dead- who try and eat loggers… and environmentalists! The only downside to this environmentally friendly zombie flick is the lack of Goods on the disc. That must mean the movie is SO good that they don’t NEED features to make it look better. Yeah. That’s it.

    The Goods:

  • Anamorphic widescreen
  • 5.1 Surround sound

  • DVD Cover Art

INVASION has gotten way better since it came back from hiatus, though I really hope it doesn't go past a third season...unless they seriously find a way to change it up...odds are it'll just get cancelled by end of season 2. SUPERNATURAL was alright, but it wasn't going anywhere so I lost interest. I guess I was hoping for more continuity ala X-Files or Buffy or any of the other supernatural shows out there.
