TRANCERS: THE DEFINITIVE COLLECTION – October 10th

If you’re name is Jack Deth, it’s written in stone somewhere that you are a muthaf*ckin’ badass. Hence the TRANCERS DEFINITIVE COLLECTION, with Jack Deth here kicking ass through time and through 5 different movies. Who cares if there’s special features, blooper reals or commentary, it’s Jack f*ckin’ Deth! The only way this would be cooler is if Deth was actually played by Chuck Norris. Now that would be awesome!!!

The Goods:

  • Trancers I-V
  • Original Videozones (Making of Featurettes)

    CANNIBAL FEROX – October 31st

This movie proves a few truths that I’ve known for a few years now without having seen this: studying cannibals and becoming buddy-buddy with drug dealers who have enslaved them is never a good idea. Nor is it a good idea to either study cannibals or become buddy-buddy with slave owners in the Amazon. When you pull both of those off at once, you get CANNIBAL FEROX, which is filled with enough blood, gore and torture that it even makes HOSTEL look like a walk in the park. Words of advice: stay away from Cannibals… but not this movie- it rocks!

  • Audio Commentary with Director Umberto Lenzi and Star John Morghen
  • On-Camera Interview with Lenzi

    THE DESCENT – December 26th

One of the scariest movies in recent memory, and dubbed by some guy as the best horror-thriller since ALIEN, this UK import did a decent job at the box office, but will likely do a killing on DVD. Seriously, who could pass up reliving that sweet feeling of claustrophobia and downright terror everyday of the week? I know I can’t! Plus it’s loaded with enough extras to warrant a merry Christmas for anybody on your wish list… even if it’s a day late.

    The (Possible) Goods:

    Disc 1
  • 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen
  • DTS 5.1 English, Dolby Digital 5.1 English

    CANNIBAL CAMPOUT – January 16th

A while back I came up with a rule of thumb about what elements needed to be present in order to have an awesome horror movie. Teenagers, camping, sex, drugs, gore and humanoid cannibals are all near the top of the list. And lucky for us, CANNIBAL CAMPOUT contains all this good stuff and then some. From the decade that gave us Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees comes one of the more entertaining slasher flicks of it’s time… and now you can own your very own copy!

    The Goods:

  • Audio Commentary by Director Jon McBride
  • New Interviews with the Cast
  • VideoBob Jon McBride Interview
  • Still Gallery
  • Camp Trailer Vault

    WOODCHIPPER MASSACRE – January 16th

John McBride had a busy year in 1988, after he did CANNIBAL CAMPOUT, he did this flick… an awesome name, an awesome tagline (How much flesh would a Woodchipper chip, if a Woodchipper could chip flesh?), and by most people who’ve seen it… it’s awesomely bad. Bad in that fun, campy good way, or bad in that pile of donkey balls bad way? Now that it’s finally hitting DVD, you can make the decision for yourself. Hopefully they answer the question the tagline proposes, because I’ve already thought about it way too much and now my head hurts. Thanks a lot, WOODCHIPPER MASSACRE!!!

    The Goods:

  • Audio Commentary by Director Jon McBride
  • New Interviews with the Cast
  • VideoBob Jon McBride Interview
  • Still Gallery
  • Camp Trailer Vault

    Honorable Mentions:

MASTERS OF HORROR: IMPRINT – OUT NOW – Because this segment, directed by Takashi Miike, was banned from Showtime, which made it the most sought after title in the series. Good job, Showtime!

THE WOODS – October 3 – Because it’s time to show Lucky McKee some love… finally!

EDMOND – October 3 – Because it’s William H. Macy and hottie Julia Stiles from the director of RE-ANIMATOR. Plus- there’s strippers!
