PUMPKIN HEAD: ASHES TO ASHES – March 27th

How does a straight to cable/ straight to video sequel look this awesome! Seriously, the cover here is rockin’, the tag line has me hooked, and both Bishop and Pinhead are staring in it- how this doesn’t look like fun is beyond me. Could be crap (and likely, it is), but if you’re a fan of the series (or of Henriksen/Bradley), then I’m sure you’ll be in for a good time with this one. Now when’s the next sequel coming out???

The Goods:

  • Widescreen (1.85:1)
  • 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound

    FIRST BORN – March 6th

What the f*ck happened to Elizabeth Shue? That’s what folks will be thinking when they cruise by this at the video store- WTF? She stars alongside some heavy hitters and develops a name for herself, then she briefly falls off the wagon with HOLLOW MAN (though, co-starring Kevin Bacon and directed by Paul Verhoeven- a nice move on her part), and then BAM! She hits rock bottom with this trash. Let’s just rename it THE OMEN 2: THE REMAKE and get it over with!

    The Goods:

  • Widescreen
  • Spanish Subtitles

LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE – April 24th

Another limited re-release from the Bay – if nothing else – you gotta love the title here. And word around the campfire is, if you love zombies, then you’re only half in love with them until you’ve seen this. Like, it’s in the zombie-must-see-handbook or something. I wouldn’t lie, and if I were you… I’d follow suite. Pick it up and check it out.

    The Goods:

  • 5.1 Dolby Digital and Original Dolby Surround Track
  • Interview with Director Jorge Grau

    Bram Stoker’s DRACULA – March 16th

Riddle me this, Batman: what do you get when you have a classic horror novel and Masterpiece Theater porking each other’s brains out in your parent’s bedroom late at night? You get this rendition of Bram Stoker’s DRACULA, of course! The PBS version, airing live on TV February 11th (yep, you still have time to check it out) and debuting straight to the vid store about a month later, this is the Brit’s version of the novel… as it’s on PBS, I wouldn’t expect any of the good stuff, but you never know…

    The Goods:

  • TBA

    DVD Covers:

    Honorable Mentions:

HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS –April 24th– Because it’s a heartwarming family tale. With Big Foot.
