Eddie the Sleepwalking Cannibal coming all the way from Denmark for Cannes!

Ah Cannes. I believe this is the third article in a row where I’m mentioning the beloved festival. And for good reason.

You see every year when Cannes rolls around we hear about lesser-known flicks that we would probably never normally hear about. So yay for Cannes. And yay for EDDIE THE SLEEPWALKING CANNIBAL!

Oh right, where I was going with all this – EDDIE THE SLEEPWALKING CANNIBAL. Who’s EDDIE? Well EDDIE is a fellow coming all the way from Denmark to… well.. eat you.

The film follows Lars Olafssen, a once young celebrity in the prestigious art world, who is now slipping away into the land of has-beens. His long-time art dealer, Ronny, is now an ungracefully aging hipster who desperately wants his meal ticket back.

But Lars refuses to paint.

His creativity comes at too high a cost – his inspiration is carnage – blood, guts and limbs. Not surprisingly, this lead to a dreadful breakdown in the past. Nevertheless, an eager Ronny arranges a teaching job for Lars with his old friend Harry at an art school in Koda Lake, a small Canadian town in the middle of nowhere. It’s a “therapeutic” measure for Lars – a means to conquer his need to paint in the “safety” of a country retreat… and perhaps lead to romance with his fellow teacher, Leslie. That is, until Eddie comes into his life.

You can go ahead and let your imagination run wild with what happens next. Or you can just check out EDDIE THE SLEEPWALKING CANNIBAL when it hits. Either or.

Now the intriguing little genre comedy is coming our way from director Boris Rodriguez and stars Thure Lindhardt, Stephen McHattie, Georgia Reilly (below), Al Goulem, Paul Braunstein and Dylan Scott Smith. The only release date this bad larry has right now is October 20th in Denmark. Hopefully EDDIE THE SLEEPWALKING CANNIBAL will make some noise at Cannes later this month.
